These properties lie on the outskirts of Tsavo East and West National Park respectively. The sanctuary where the Salt Lick Lodge is located was once a sisal plantation.
It is now a successful animal sanctuary with abundant game The lodge also has walkways, tunnel with bunker and special windows for close up viewing of game at the floodlit waterhole at night.
Its name is taken from its setting a natural salt lick which was a congregating place for the neighborhood’s salt-hungry residents. Voi Wildlife Lodge, Man Eaters, Taita Lodge and Manyatta Lodge are some of the properties available. Salt Lick lodge because of its ambiance and proximity to wild animals is a preferred destination.
